After the great success in Mexico at Exintex 2016, Tonello, global leader of garment finishing technologies, will return in South America at Colombiatex 2017. In Plaza Mayor Medellín the Italian company will present, from January 24 to 26, innovative technologies that combine fashion, ecology and efficiency in the finishing of denim garments. It will also be present at 2 conferences.
In 1981, the global leader of garment finishing technologies was born. 2016 marks 35 years of Tonello, which strove to make sustainability in the industry popular and introduced us to technologies like Laser, Batik and the NoStone®.
Tonello, global leader of sustainable finishing technologies, will be present in Exintex, the most important textile fair of Mexico, from the 18th to the 21st of October 2016, showcasing innovations that will transform the Mexican apparel industry towards automation and efficiency. It will also be present at the First Textile Symposium with its latest advances in denim treatment.
Bringing out all the technical potential of a fabric and giving it added value requires machines and technologies that are capable of conveying emotions. And capable of optimizing the performance of each individual garment. In other words, what is needed is truly innovative technology: Core.
More than 12 years ago we launched onto the market Batik. At that time it was still a rudimentary system to create vintage effects on garments, in a semi-automated way. Many years have passed and many tests and improvements have been done. It’s now time to present you Core, that is not the best version of Batik. It’s even more: a new, fundamental step towards the future of finishing. Actually, an innovative technology that works like magic.
High quality and innovation are two words that immediately jump to mind when thinking about Tonello, the Italian brand that, since 1981, has reinvented the way jeans and garments are washed, dyed and finished. With over 7000 machines sold worldwide and a widespread sales network, Tonello is considered the reference point in the garment finishing industry. That’s the reason why the ICHAM — Italian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam — invited us to take the floor at the upcoming seminar “Italian Technology for Vietnam’s Garment and Textile Industry”.
After ECOfree, NoStone® and Core, denim washing has reached a crucial turning point with UP. This patented technology reduces the liquor ratio to unparalleled levels, saving water and energy and making water filling and draining faster. UP is a revolutionary innovation applicable to all existing Tonello machines, including the least recent. Because Tonello machines do not age, they evolve.
Tonello’s Safe Collection features denim garments with an authentic worn-out look that are safe for workers to treat and for consumers to wear. This achievement was perfected by combining different technologies and, in the same way, by avoiding the use of any type of hazardous chemicals. An example of this is potassium permanganate and sodium hypochlorite, two both toxic and polluting products of standard use in the finishing of jeans.
A non-book book, experimental, artistic but never didactic; an “emotional object” of inspiration and design, made up more of free associations – thematic, graphic and photographic… – than of logical and orderly arguments, like a fabric that is interwoven of different kinds and consistencies of threads, combined together by proximity, and similarity or contrast: Tonello has chosen to celebrate its first thirty-five years of history with a tribute.
Today, we announced the latest advance in denim manufacturing, the NoStone®, a new system developed in collaboration with Levi Strauss & Co. The new process is designed to overcome economic, mechanical and environmental limitations of existing stone-wash processes.
The NoStone® system eliminates the use of pumice stone, replacing it with a stainless-steel abrasive drum, fastened to the washing machine. This drum can create a variety of finishes through flexible abrasion adjustments to create the look and styles varieties consumers love. Due to the mechanical – rather than chemical – nature of the process, the NoStone® effect is the same as that of stone-wash and reduces the carbon footprint created by using pumice stones.
