After the recognition we received in 2015, with NoStone®, it was difficult to repeat ourselves. This is why we are particularly happy with the results of ITMA 2019, where Tonello won not only one, but two awards.
100% sustainable, using only organic and fully compostable raw materials.
This is Wake, the first totally natural dyeing system, a result of Tonello research. Research that for years has made visionary, responsible, and ethical choices oriented towards sustainable processes and garment wholesomeness.
Tonello’s signature Laundry (R)evolution is the sophisticated fruit of a radically new conception in garment finishing processes. It is, in effect, a revolution, based on 3 clear words: simple, digital and automatic. And with the All-in-One-System, Tonello is again a finalist at the ITMA Sustainable Innovation Awards.
2013: with the launch of ECOfree, Tonello takes denim ozone treatment to the next level.
2017: four years later, Tonello comes back to revolutionize the market with the latest evolution of its most avant-garde technology, even more efficient and higher performing.
The main focus of denim designers is to make a new garment look old. Enzymes can produce great results, without polluting the environment. In 1952 Carlsberg mapped a protein degrading enzyme for the first time. We shared this discovery with the world, kickstarting groundbreaking progress in technology and industry.
After ECOfree, NoStone® and Core, denim washing has reached a crucial turning point with UP. This patented technology reduces the liquor ratio to unparalleled levels, saving water and energy and making water filling and draining faster. UP is a revolutionary innovation applicable to all existing Tonello machines, including the least recent. Because Tonello machines do not age, they evolve.
Tonello joined forces with Kaltex for the New York edition of Kingpins, the international show dedicated to denim insiders. Together, they presented the Konscious collection, featuring garments processed ecologically in all phases of production and with an authentic worn-out look. Innovative fabrics, cutting-edge technologies and revolutionary finishing techniques: these were the constituent elements of a successful collaboration. Bringing sustainable fashion to the market.
Tonello’s Safe Collection features denim garments with an authentic worn-out look that are safe for workers to treat and for consumers to wear. This achievement was perfected by combining different technologies and, in the same way, by avoiding the use of any type of hazardous chemicals. An example of this is potassium permanganate and sodium hypochlorite, two both toxic and polluting products of standard use in the finishing of jeans.
